Turangi Leisure Lodge lies in the heart of the lakeside town of Turangi on the south side of deep, trout-rich Lake Taupo. The area is world famous as an angler's paradise, but is rapidly gaining a reputation as the New Zealand North Island's premier, year 'round, outdoor pursuit centre. Turangi Leisure Lodge provides the perfect base for families to enjoy the many exciting attractions that make this region a world-renowned holiday playground.

What is there to do in the area?

  • Tongariro River White Water Rafting
  • Tongariro Alpine Crossing
  • Mount Ruapehu for skiing
  • Various bush and lake walks
  • Mountain biking
  • Hunting
  • Swimming and water skiing
  • Thermal hot pools
  • World famous lake and river fishing, and much much more.

Turangi Leisure Lodge comprises land, buildings, plant and chattels. The property is run as a  timeshare resort that originally comprised, in part, an 18 unit motel complex constructed in the late 1980s.    These original units are spacious and have a mezzanine bedroom measuring around 33 square metres each.

The balance of the complex was built around 1990.  There are 4 three bedroom units located to the south of the main structure measuring circa 62 square metres each and a further 16 two bedroom units of some 62 square metres.

Unit 19; the management unit; incorporates the main administrative centre with office, managers residence, restaurant/bar facilities, communal areas and associated amenities.

Facilities include

  • Swimming pool
  • Spa pools
  • Laundry
  • Recreation room
  • Drying room
  • Fish cleaning area
  • Mini putt
  • Barbeque areas
  • Generous sized portico attached to the side of the main administrative/management unit.

Possible future uses:

Future uses may include (subject of course to Council consent):

  • A large motel of 38 units
  • An 18 room motel and sell off the larger units with possible management rights agreements with the new owners to let them out when not being used by family and friends
  • Sell off all the units with a management rights or lease agreement in place for those owners who wish to participate
  • A training centre using the large main building for classes and housing the trainees in the units
  • A health clinic or specialist medical centre
  • Community housing
  • drug and alcohol rehabilitation
  • rest home or retirement village

The timeshare structure no longer works for the owners and they have voted to sell the complex in one line with vacant possession.  This is your opportunity to take advantage of the fact that it is already built and will be selling at a considerable discount to replacement cost.  You can decide on the future use which makes sense to you and the fact that it is existing it then allows you to provide an immediate facility to house people.

There is a considerable amount of information available to you held in the Due Diligence Room.  Please complete the online Confidentiality Agreement which is in yellow on the right hand side of this listing.

As it is still being run as a timeshare until the sale, inspections will only be possible on Fridays when the guests change over.
