This is a very functional motel designed and built when size mattered.  Many more recent motels are very small and crammed onto a site.  Magnolia Court Motel has large rooms and this all adds to guest comfort and enjoyment.

 

The typical motel design is a straight line of rooms or at best "L" or "U" shaped around a sterile central driveway and carparking.  Magnolia goes against this trend as it has been spread around a significant piece of land with various separate blocks.  This means that guests do not feel squeezed in and are able to gain a good level of privacy.

 

The sense of arrival is very special after driving through a porte-cochere you arrive into the heart of the property.  You can then enter a very spacious and recently upgraded reception.  From an operational perspective, the owner benefits from direct access to the reception from the very well-proportioned 3 bedroom home.  There are a separate lounge and full bathroom and toilet facilities plus the ability to use private outside courtyards.

 

A recently installed security system means that you can sit in the dining/living area and see who is coming and going.

 

Few motels have a garage that is used for the owner's car/s.  A real feature is a large double garage standing on its own at the southern end of the site, and guess what it can be used for?  Cars, as there are ample alternative storage areas.

 

There is a motel kitchen but this is not really used nowadays.  There is a large laundry and storeroom.  In the laundry are recently purchased Maytag washing machine and dryer plus an F&P Quicksmart washing machine.  A dedicated courtyard provides for wonderful drying and if the weather is inclement then there are lines in the garage.

 

So what does the room inventory look like?

 

The motel comprises as follows:

  • 6 x studios
  • 6 x one bedroom units
  • 1 x two bedroom unit

 

Total of 13 units making it easily managed by a couple.

 

If you are looking for a well run, profitable motel in a "holiday" environment that has the potential to grow with Government money being spent to stimulate the local economy, then you should call Gordon to arrange an inspection.
